it only took a year, but this room is finally finished with the addition of the padded headboard. Thanks to John’s parents for getting it hung on the wall!

Turns out if you mix lemon peel and lemon juice with simple syrup and cook it to 220 degrees, the peel releases natural pectin and turns to jelly.



Crutons are simple, easy and cheap to make at home. A couple tablespoons of oil, pressed garlic, salt and pepper are in a big bowl. Take 4-5 slices leftover sandwich bread and slice into cubes. Toss the cubes in the oil until well coated. Bake on a baking sheet (350 degrees) for about 15-20 minutes, or until brown. So good!

twin needle quilting


Twin needle quilting is not traditional, but it looks great! I think it adds a professional level to the front. On the back, the bobbin creates a zigzag effect, which some don’t like. For my modern quilt with a (boring) solid background, I appreciate the texture it adds.
