Chocolate chips and a little bit of instant coffee turned these into meringues into fantastic little gems of goodness.
I tried every kind of citrus this year–grapefruit, orange, lemon and mandarin orange. Wasn’t sure if mandarin orange would work as I couldn’t find any recipes for it, but it turned out great. I soaked them all in one pot of sugar syrup for a few days and then left them to dry.
While at staff conference, I got to meet and visit with Dutch and German Cru staff members. It was fun to hear about what God is doing in their countries. Students are learning more about him all the time! Here Heiko speaks about his experience in the Netherlands.

Sunday, our church had each of us write the important things of our lives on a glass ornament. Then we could walk up and smash it in a green coffin to show that we are willing to give up our lives for Jesus. “Whoever wants to be my disciple must take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.” —Jesus. (Mark 8:34-35)
