Today is our friend Chris’ 30th birthday. His wife threw him a kickin’ birthday party at a local restaurant. We had a great time celebrating! I had the Jumbo Sea Scallop Risotto. WOW! Butternut Squash Risotto with Andouille Sausage and this wonderful Citrus Fennel Watercress Salad. The citrus really made it outstanding.

With our hosts, Angie and Eric living in Miami Beach, we enjoyed a little walking tour of the Art Deco architecture and beach scene. Miami Beach is very influenced by the Art Deco era, with buildings reminiscent of ships, horizontal lines and “eyebrows” over the windows and colors hailing from the technicolor 80s of Miami Vice Miami Beach is definitely the place to be. Day or night, there are tons of places to eat, enjoy the sun or party.
We joined our friends Dennis and Amy on a Carnival Cruise. Today is their 10th anniversary, Dennis’ birthday and my birthday! The best part was that Amy didn’t know they were going on a cruise. She didn’t know we were joining them! Dennis, John and I had such fun planning the trip and it was hilarious to surprise Amy. Thanks for letting us be your “and” for the vacation and celebration!
We’re on vacation! We flew to Miami and are cruise bound. Tonight we went out with friends Eric and Angie from church who moved to Miami Beach. We had quite an adventure looking for a good local place to eat dinner and ended up at Angelique Euro Cafe in Coral Gables. We had a wonderful time and meal together eating out on the patio. I thoroughly enjoyed the 4 Course Prix Fixe: Montadito del dia, salad, seafood cioppino, and key lime cheesecake. It was wonderful! Thank you, Eric and Angie for hosting us during our stay!
