After living in Indianapolis for 9 years, we finally made it to The Vogue, a small club with concerts and dancing. We saw one of John’s new favorite bands, The Hold Steady.
Love this photo of my gorgeous friend Rachel with her baby Logan.
A group of us from work toured the brand new, still being built JW Marriott on Friday. The 2012 IndyCC will be held here.
After spending the day working at the Westin downtown, I saw these couches and thought it would make a fun place for a selfie. Then this couple showed up right as I was setting up the camera. So I went ahead and took two pictures anyways. :) The lady at first was going to get up and leave when she realized what I was doing, but I complimented her and invited them to stay. They were all dressed up for dinner and looked great. Made for a fun photo interaction too.
A few of the girls from work attended a Photoshop seminar in downtown Indianapolis today. A great day of learning how to use such a great tool to be more creative. Thanks girls!
I took these a couple of days ago after taking pictures of little Evan. There were so many birds sitting on the telephone lines that I had to pull over and check it out. Imagine about 10 telephone poles and birds lining every inch of wire between them.
Step 1: Wash your strawberries. I wash mine in water and white vinegar. Vinegar kills bacteria and cleans the strawberries well.
Step 2: De-stem and chop your strawberries. Then mash with a potato masher.
You need 2 cups of strawberries and juice.
Step 3: Add in 4 cups of sugar and stir. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
Step 4: Bring 3/4 cup of water and one package of Sure-Jell to a boil. Boil for 1 minute. Then add to the fruit and sugar mixture.
Step 5: Stir fruit for 3 minutes.
Step 6: Pour jam into jars that have been sterilized in the dishwasher.
Step 6: Add lids and let sit for 24 hours before storing in the freezer.
You’re all done! Enjoy some of the most fresh tasting jam you’ve ever had. Here’s the complete recipe.
We are adding to the team day by day. Andrew and Ann on the left are still raising support but will join us soon! Steve and Karen arrived on Thursday.
Braden wanted to push his car rather than ride.
I must confess, our grass in Indianapolis is not green right now, but the picture looks so much more vibrant with green grass.
John pushes Braden in the car when he doesn’t want to walk.
Welcome to baby Maren, born last night! Congratulations, guys!
Evan is seven months old now! My, how he has grown!
Evan is animated! Click on him to see him go.
For Labor Day, John and I smoked us some ribs! We did a dry rub, used mesquite chips and smoked the spareribs for 4 hours this afternoon. Add to that some homemade coleslaw and we had a great dinner. We sat outside playing cards while we took care of the ribs. It was a wonderful afternoon.
Every Labor Day and Memorial Day weekend, we get together with our neighbors for a cookout. It is such a great time to connect, eat good food and visit. I made black and white cupcakes–chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese filling.
